New way to report Attendance
The NEW Way to Report Your Child's Absence:
To report your child's absence, log in to your School Spider account, select "Report Absence," and choose the child for whom you're reporting the absence.
Alternatively, you can leave a voicemail on our telephone system.
Important: You must use one of these methods before 9:30 am on the day of absence.
After reporting the absence, you may choose to speak with the class teacher separately.
As a Reminder, Here's a Summary of Our Attendance Policy:
We understand that some absences are unavoidable. Each absence is classified as either authorised or unauthorised:
- Authorised Absences: These are valid reasons for absence.
- Unauthorised Absences: These occur when no valid explanation is provided or unacceptable reasons are given.
The following are not acceptable reasons for absence:
- Shopping visits
- Days out
- Holidays during term time (including long weekends)
- Parental or sibling illness
- Celebrating birthdays
If you don't contact us, we have a duty of care to ensure we know your child's whereabouts.
Reporting Absences:
- If your child is absent, please notify us by 9:30 am.
- If you don’t contact us, and we can’t reach you, we will call your emergency contacts.
- If we are still unable to make contact, and we’re unsure of your child’s safety, we may do a home visit or notify the police for a welfare check.
